Dorothy Black is an established artist and teacher working from her studio in a converted Church.
She has exhibited in many group and solo exhibitions and has built a reputation for powerful draughtsmanship, strong compositions and bold use of colour.
Perhaps best known for her figure paintings, where the solid structure of a pose is contrasted with freer painterly handling on the dress, she also enjoys still life, print and pattern. Her rural surroundings have been the inspiration for large botanical studies.
Dorothy will showcase new work for CFOS in the Village Hall and will include the work of some of her students.
