Katie is inspired by pattern and colour, particularly the intricate patterns found on insect wings and the hidden colours only seen on closer inspection.
Drawings in pencil and watercolour of the insects and other nature found in Katie's garden and on her daily travels are the starting point of her work.
Katie also uses her drawings to make silk screen prints and printed textiles, turning the fabric she designs into bags, accessories and homeware - always with pattern and colour bursting from somewhere.
