Mairi Watson is an artist based in Kirkcaldy, where she works from her small garden studio. She works predominantly in soft pastels but also enjoys using graphite, watercolour and acrylic. Animals and seascapes feature frequently in her work– cheeky highland cows and the Fife coastline are her favourites.
Formerly a dancer, Mairi also enjoys depicting dancers, especially trying to convey their strength and grace. Her work tends to focus on line and playing with colour rather than creating true-to-life images. Commissions welcome.
Constantly on the lookout for inspiration Mairi can be found walking, biking and photographing Scotland with her family.
