Malcolm paints primarily in oils and pastels but also works in watercolour from time to time and has more recently returned to printmaking. He works in a representational style painting a variety of subjects from portraits to landscapes. The only common denominator is that there has to be a visual stimulus that catches his eye.
Malcolm has exhibited his work widely including the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Art, the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Pastel Society.
He is a member of Leeds Fine Artists and Fife Dunfermline Printmakers.
