Malcolm has worked in several mediums including charcoal, watercolour and coloured pencils. However, over the past few years he has concentrated on oils and pastels as his primary working practice. He works in a representational style painting a variety of subjects from portraits to landscapes. The only common denominator is that there has to be a visual stimulus that attracts his attention.
Malcolm has exhibited his work widely including the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Art, the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and the Pastel Society.
