Marysia is interested in the marks people leave behind. She works mainly with a digital camera but has always maintained an interest in 19th century photographic techniques and alternative processes. Marysia likes to experiment and explore the possibilities of new and old techniques. Despite careful planning, ‘happy accidents’ happen and these often lead to new and untried pathways.
Marysia’s most recent project is developing a body of work of the Fife coast, including documenting the abandoned outdoor bathing pools. The abstract images created using the wet cyanotypes process in these old pools capture a specific moment and place; each unique and unpredictable just like the Scottish weather.
